At Home with the Mele Family {Ashburn, VA Newborn Photographer}

There are a million + one reasons why I love lifestyle newborn photography sessions, but one of my favorites is that you aren't always confined to photographing babies in the first two weeks.  Sure, babies are nice and sleepy and (usually) very cooperative during that early time, but there are many perks to having an older newborn session.  

Meet Baby Shaw.  

At the time that we did his newborn session, he was almost 12 weeks old and was making that transition from newborn to babyhood. Because of this, we got the most adorable alert photographs and even a few grins!  It was beautiful watching him interact with his mommy, daddy, and big brother, Michael.

His nursery was beautifully decorated in chevron and giraffe-printed sheets...and speaking of the nursery, I should mention that the Mele family had just finished completely restoring their home from top to bottom just in time for his arrival! This session was so special- capturing the story of a new baby, his family that adores him, new sibling bonds, and the house that has become their home.
